How to Install Peppermint on Kali Linux
Peppermint is a lightweight Linux operating system that can be used as an alternative to Kali Linux. It is designed for speed, simplicity and comes with its own cloud storage. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Peppermint on Kali Linux.
Prerequisites
Before we begin, you need to make sure that you have the following:
- Kali Linux installed on your computer.
- Access to the internet for downloading Peppermint.
Step 1 - Download Peppermint ISO
In order to install Peppermint, you need to download the ISO file from their official website (https://peppermint.sh/).
Step 2 - Create a bootable USB drive
You need to create a bootable USB drive to install Peppermint on Kali Linux. You can use tools like etcher or Rufus to create a bootable drive.
Step 3 - Reboot Your Computer
Reboot your computer and make sure the bootable USB drive is inserted into your system.
Step 4 - Select Peppermint for Installation
Once you have rebooted your computer, you will see a boot menu. From this menu, select the option named “Peppermint.” This will start the installation process.
Step 5 - Select Language and Timezone
The installation process will prompt you to select your language and timezone. Choose them according to your preferences.
Step 6 - Select Keyboard Layout
In this step, you need to choose your keyboard layout.
Step 7 - Create Partitions
The Peppermint installer will now prompt you to create partitions for your Peppermint installation. You can choose “Guided- use entire disk” to let the installer decide the partitions.
Step 8 - Confirm Partition
The installer will then ask you to confirm the partition that you have created for Peppermint installation.
Step 9 - Enter User Details
In this step, you need to enter your user details like name, username, and password.
Step 10 - Wait for Installation
The installer will now install Peppermint on your system. Wait for the installation process to complete.
Step 11 - Reboot
Once the installation process is completed, you need to reboot your system. You can now start using Peppermint on your Kali Linux computer.
