How to Install Piwigo on Kali Linux Latest

Piwigo is an open-source photo gallery software that allows you to create and manage your photo gallery with ease. In this tutorial, we will learn how to install Piwigo on Kali Linux Latest.

Prerequisites

Before we begin the installation process, ensure you have the following:

Kali Linux Latest.
Apache Web Server (sudo apt-get install apache2).
MySQL or MariaDB Server (sudo apt-get install mysql-server).
PHP, including MySQL and GD extensions (sudo apt-get install php php-mysql php-gd).

Install Piwigo

Download the latest version of Piwigo from the official website:
```
wget https://piwigo.org/download/dlcounter.php?code=latest
```
Unzip the downloaded tarball:
```
tar -zxvf dlcounter.php?code=latest
```
Move the extracted piwigo directory to Apache’s webroot:
```
sudo mv piwigo /var/www/html/
```
Change the ownership of the piwigo directory to the Apache web server user:
```
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/piwigo
```

Create a new MySQL/MariaDB database and user for Piwigo:

mysql -u root -p
CREATE DATABASE piwigo CHARACTER SET utf8mb4 COLLATE utf8mb4_unicode_ci ;
CREATE USER 'piwigo_user'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON piwigo.* TO 'piwigo_user'@'localhost';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
exit;

Note: Make sure to replace password with a strong password for your Piwigo user.

Open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost/piwigo. Follow the installation wizard and enter the database details when prompted.
Finish installing Piwigo and log in as an administrator to configure your photo gallery.
