How to Install BicBucStriim on Windows 10

BicBucStriim is an open-source e-book server that is designed to let you access your e-books from anywhere, on any device. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps necessary to install BicBucStriim on Windows 10.

Requirements

Before we begin, please ensure that you have the following:

• A Windows 10 computer.
• A zip file containing the latest version of BicBucStriim. You can download it from the official website at https://projekte.textmulch.de/bicbucstriim/downloads/bicbucstriim-latest.zip.
• An installation of Apache Tomcat 8 or later. You can download it from the official website at https://tomcat.apache.org/download-80.cgi.

Steps

1. Extract the contents of the zip file to a directory of your choice.

2. If you haven't already done so, install Apache Tomcat by running the installer and following the steps provided.

3. Once Tomcat is installed, start the Tomcat server by running the startup.bat script located in the /bin directory of your Tomcat installation.

4. Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:8080 to ensure that the Tomcat server is running correctly.

5. Copy the BicBucStriim war file that you extracted in step 1 to the webapps directory of your Tomcat installation.

6. Restart the Tomcat server by running the shutdown.bat script followed by the startup.bat script located in the /bin directory.

7. Once the Tomcat server has been started, navigate to http://localhost:8080/bicbucstriim in your web browser to launch BicBucStriim.

8. By default, BicBucStriim has no books added. To start adding books, log into BicBucStriim by clicking on the "Log in" link in the navigation bar and entering the default username/password of admin/admin.

9. Once logged in, click on the "Add books" button to start adding books to your library.
