How to Install Asciiflow on Windows 10

Asciiflow is a web-based tool that allows users to create ASCII diagrams and flowcharts. Although Asciiflow is primarily a web-based tool, it is possible to use it offline by following the steps below.

Prerequisites

Before you get started, make sure you have the following:

  • Windows 10
  • Google Chrome web browser

Steps

  1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to the Asciiflow website.
  2. Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser and select "More tools" > "Create shortcut...".
  3. Check the box "Open as window" and click "Create".
  4. A new window should open. Click on the three dots again and select "More tools" > "Developer tools" (or simply press Ctrl + Shift + I).
  5. In the window that appears, click on the "Application" tab.
  6. Locate the "Cache Storage" section on the left-hand side of the window and click on it.
  7. Click on the URL for Asciiflow to display its contents.
  8. Right-click on the URL and select "Save as..."
  9. Save the file to your preferred location (e.g. desktop) and rename the file to something recognizable (e.g. asciiflow.html).
  10. You should now be able to double-click on the saved file to launch Asciiflow offline.
