Installing Diagrams.net on macOS

Diagrams.net (formerly known as draw.io) is a free, online diagramming tool that can be used to create diagrams like flowcharts, process maps, Venn diagrams, and many others. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install Diagrams.net on macOS.

Prerequisites

  • A Mac running macOS 10.12 or later
  • Internet connection

Installation procedure

  1. Open the Safari browser and go to https://app.diagrams.net/

  2. Click on the “Download” button at the top of the page.

  3. Wait for the download to complete. This should only take a few seconds.

  4. Once the download is complete, open the Downloads folder on your Mac.

  5. Locate the “diagrams.net-14.X.X.dmg” file and double-click on it. (The version number may vary.)

  6. A new window opens with the Diagrams.net icon and a shortcut to the Applications folder. Drag and drop the Diagrams.net icon onto the Applications shortcut.

  7. Wait for the installation to complete. This may take a few minutes.

  8. Once the installation is complete, open the Applications folder.

  9. Find the Diagrams.net application and double-click it to launch it.
